Yesterday, my husband was working from home, so even though our son is home for spring break, I was able to head up to The Stitching Bee in Green Bay for some stitcher-bonding time. The shop is about a 60-mile round trip, so I don't visit as often as I might if it were closer, but I really enjoy it when I do go. Kendra, the owner, hosts a stitching retreat in Door County towards the end of October, and I'm hoping to be able to make it this year; I went a couple of years ago, and it was just so much fun!
I took my L*K Halloween Rules with me, as the model I'm working on is a bit too large to be portable, and I was able to complete the ninth panel; three more and it's finished! I haven't taken a picture of yesterday's work, yet, but here is one I took before I went:
Here is a closer shot of my most recent work, although the block under the black cat is now complete, and says "Brew Some Fun":
It's getting hard to put this down, now, with only three blocks to go; I'm thinking I may have it finished by the end of the month. It'd be nice to be able to cross off another WIP!
I am tempted by the Door County retreat - does she have details out yet? My friend usually forwards The Buzz to me, but I might have missed it. Your Halloween Rules is looking good! I recently finished Boo Club, which was fun to stitch but haven't "finished" it yet.
ReplyDeleteI think she usually gets the info out around late August/ early September. I truly hope she has one this year; her business is not doing well lately, to the point where closing may be a possibilty if it doesn't turn around. :(
ReplyDeleteI would love to see your Boo Club; do you ever post pics anywhere?
I am loving Lizzie Kate more and more. Can't wait to see your finish. If you get details about the retreat, I'd be interested in hearing more. Door County isn't too terribly far from northern Illinois.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely post details about the retreat when I get them. I've been trying to remember more clearly, and I think the one I went to was actually in early to mid November, not late October. Two years seems like a lifetime ago, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love watching you cross of those WIPS! I have awarded you a Liebster and have promoted your blog on my own site! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI have been wanted to stitch Halloween Rules for months! But I am forcing myself to set a limit to my purchases and starts. I will get it someday.... :D
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower btw, and I am loving your blog! You're blog title is so creative!

Thanks so much McKenna! I used to love the show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", so that's what popped into my mind when I was naming my blog. ;)
