I started Nora Corbett's Geranium on July 24th and as I was working on it I decided that I wanted to use size 8 instead of size 6 beads along the edge of her wing, so on the 31st I ordered some from an eBay seller, which was the only place I could find them in stock. The seller shipped them that same day, so I should have had them last week, but the USPS messed up (of course!) and the package wasn't scanned so I didn't know if I was going to receive it. The seller and I agreed that if nothing showed up by last Friday he would ship another package, so when the mail went and the beads didn't show up I checked the tracking (which still showed label printed, never accepted) and messaged him. Literally, right after I sent the message I checked my email and had a notice from the USPS that they had my package--talk about timing! It got from MA to WI with no tracking at all, then showed up at the PO two stops away and is out for delivery today.
The frustrating part is that I would have been able to finish Geranium last Thursday if the beads had arrived when they were supposed to:
Hello Melanie: She is beautiful, I understand about the post office, I sell on Ebay and the post delivery is so slow, they are so short of workers, no one wants to work anymore.
ReplyDeleteChill is such a sweet design, love the fabric choice. all the tiny towns are so adorable, I have a heart for drums, lucky you have some new stash, Christmas Is Coming fabric is stunning such a pretty color.
Catherine
Thanks Catherine; must be frustrating to have to deal with the PO on a regular basis as a seller!
DeleteGeranium is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had a PO incident.
Like Catherine said, no one wants to work anymore At a lot of businesses, it's sad.
Cute little stitch.
I love the Quilt Tiny Town.
Marilyn
Thanks Marilyn; I'm currently waiting for a Fedex delivery that was supposed to be here last Monday, so I think they're having the same problem getting anyone to work. 🙄
DeleteUrgh don't get me started about the postal service. Living in Australia it's doubly frustrating as it takes so long to arrive, unless you buy local. Luckily we are getting more and more suppliers. Someone has obviously noticed a niche in the market. So happy days for that. And 117 Nora finishes!!! Girl you are a star!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're getting more suppliers--I can't imagine waiting as long as you must have to for stash to arrive! 😬
DeleteOh, Geranium is lovely! Hope you got it finished by now. I know what you mean about taking a project out of the snap/hoop/frame and it just disappearing into the WIP pile, been there, done that.
ReplyDeleteYep, taking a WIP off the frame = creating a UFO! 🤣
