Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day to those in the US! While it's nice to have a long weekend, this one is always bittersweet to me because it means summer is almost over. I do love autumn weather, but I'm not particularly fond of winter. 🥶

I was able to finish Heart in Hand's Any Town Tiny Town last Wednesday, on PTP Demoiselle Belfast:

Now I have two of these, as I stitched a personalized version a couple of years ago:

I'll put it away for now and when I have more Tiny Towns finished, I'll send them to Faye Riggsbee to be "drummed". Quilted Tiny Town is next on my list, but it will probably be a while before I start it because I heard from Wichelt last week and they are going to be sending a couple of Nora Corbett models to be stitched.

While I wait for those to arrive I'll continue to work on Nora Corbett's Indian Ocean Mermaid, which I started last Thursday:


I'm using a darker skin palette, both because it seems more representative of the geographical region and because I think these tones mesh better with the other colors in the design. I am really enjoying working on her and hope to get enough done in the next few days that it will be feasible to finish her before I make a start on one of the models.

    Greetings Melanie: Congratulations on the finish, Love Indian Ocean Mermaid, she is lovely, the color fabric makes her colors stand out, I like the darker skin tone, perfect.
    I hope you have had a wonderful holiday weekend, I am not a fan of winter, I like it warm very warm.

      Thanks Catherine. I do like living where we have four distinct seasons, but this year spring started so late that we pretty much missed it, so with fall weather already being here I feel cheated!

    The Towns are cute. You are going to have a nice collection.
    I love the Quilt version, need to get that one.
    Those colors really pop on that fabric for the Mermaid, hope you get to finish her soon.

    No long weekend here, but I do hope for nice, long, enjoyable autumn! I'm really tired of summer hear.
    Great work finishing the Any Town, fingers crossed you'll make good progress on the mermaid too!

    Oh I love Winter. Probably because ours is not a harsh as over your way but our Summer is extremely hot. I love the Tiny Towns they are very cute. Beautiful finishes!

      Thanks Alicia. ☺️ I didn't used to mind winter as much when we lived in Iowa, but when we moved north to Wisconsin it added about 4-6 more weeks of colder weather (spring starts a few weeks later and fall starts a few weeks earlier) and that's when I started to dislike it more. 🥶
