Passione Ricamo SAL, part 1 finished

Last night I finished the first part of the PR SAL, and I am really hoping to keep up with each part of this one as it is released. As mentioned in a previous post, when I saw how sparkly the border was going to be, and that the inner portion was going to be filled in with blue, I decided to stitch this on black Belfast. So, what do you think--does it glow?  ;)

I did make one small change, as those purple beads are also supposed to be around the blue portion of the design. I switched to a petite bead, because I just didn't think that the regular size would fit in a nice line like that. Unfortunately, there is no petite bead in that exact shade of purple, but I think they work.

So this one has been put away until the next part comes out in August, and it is back to Silver Moon Tea for a while. I've made some progress on this since the last picture, so there should be a really good, updated pic soon.

Hope everyone has a great stitchy week!

  1. Melanie, you're an awesome stitcher! Congrats on finishing Part 1 in the blink of an eye! Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my specialty threads and beads. I have all the DMC colors except the border color. I went to Michael's last night and they don't have any of that color either! So no start for me yet. :-(

The black fabric was a fantastic choice!
